The Flower Market at the Singel is one of Amsterdam’s most colourful attractions. There are small shops that form a floating flower market. In the past, fresh flowers arrived in Amsterdam from the countryside by boat. The flower market are a holdover from those days.

The flower market is a joy for the eye. You can find tulips here in every colour or by bulbs to plant at home. But there are of course more flowers than only tulips. You’ll definataly find your favourite flower here. Besides cut flowers, there are houseplants and seeds. If you plan to buy bulbs to take out of the country, be sure they have a customs cleared stamp on the packet so you won’t have trouble at the border. Besides flowers, you can also find a number of shops here that sell souvenirs and (in the winter) Christmas decorations.
